Planned match dates, venues, prices, times and points systems shall be arranged and advertised by the match organiser using Haig Angling Club social media pages and on-site notice boards.

At each competition, after fees have been taken, prior to the draw, the organiser shall inform all anglers of the start time (all-in) finish time (all-out), sections in use, available prizes & pay outs.

No ground baiting or feeding of any kind is allowed until bait up time is called by the match organiser prior to the all-in. You cannot feed with pole pots or feeder whilst fishing with other equipment.

On arrival at your drawn peg, each competitor shall stretch keepnets and landing nets out on the bank and must not place them into the water until 1"nets in" is called. In all matches 2 Keepnets must be used, one to house carp (F1, mirror, common etc), keepnets for carp must be of the fish friendly type. Silver fish must not to be placed in the same keepnet as any carp.

Each competitor may set up as many items of tackle as they wish, but must only use one rod, one line & one hook at any one time (unless fishing carp only match).

Each competitor must only cast or feed within the limits of their own drawn peg, defined as halfway between them and the next peg.

Fishing will commence upon the call of “all-in” and must cease upon the call of “all-out”

Should a competitor leave their peg for any reason during a match, their line must be withdrawn from the water until they return.

Any competitor playing a fish when the “all-out” is called must declare this with the call “fish on”. A time limit of 15 minutes after the “all-out” shall be allowed for such fish to be landed.

Use of Keepnets shall follow Haig Angling Club keepnet rules
Match Information:

All match entries (£1) and optional pools (£9) must be paid before you draw. 10 match SERIES best 7 results to count, entry (£15) must be paid by the start of the second match. Match Pools will be split as follows: - Section 1st £10, section 2nd £5, remaining monies will be split to nearest £1 as follows: 1st 50%, 2nd 30% 3rd 20% - where entries allow (i.e., 12 entries = £120, paying 3 sections (3 x 4 anglers) 1st £10, 2nd £5 = £45 leaving £75 for top three placings, 1st £37, 2nd £23, 3rd £15).

Where pools entries are <10, pay-out will be to top three overall. (50%, 30%, 20%). Where entries exceed 20 anglers, sections winners will be paid by default.

Series result will be points based on your best 7 results. The lowest accumulated points from the planned matches will decide the series final positions with pay-out as follows: - 1st - 50%, 2nd - 30%, 3rd - 20%. Matches where you have caught but not weighed-in cannot be dropped and will count toward final points totals.

Each conventional coarse match will be divided into section of 4 to 8 anglers (to provide 2 - 5 sections) depending on numbers, this will be identified at the draw.

Points for all coarse matches will be awarded as follows: - Overall match position 1st – 1pt, 2nd -2pts 3rd -3pts and so on until 15th -15pts all competitors weighing in thereafter will receive 15pts, a failure to catch 20pts, catching but not weighing will result in being awarded 20pts. Individual section points 1st -1pt, 2nd -2pts to 5th -5pts failure to catch 5pts, catching but not weighing will result in being awarded 6pts. both match and section points are added together to make up your match points.

All matches will draw at 08:30 prompt fishing 10:00 – 15:00, winter times may alter due to daylight.

All competitors must ensure their peg is free of litter at the end of the match to be weighed-in; litter must be taken away for disposal.

Landing nets must be used to land all fish over 4oz. When fishing the bottom pond for carp landing nets of 24” minimum must be carried and available to be used for carp.

Each competitor must only use one rod, one line, one hook at any one time (unless fishing dedicated carp only match), multiple rods/rigs may be set up.

Groundbaiting by hand, catapult, pole pot or feeder may commence 15 minutes before match start, upon the call of “bait up” by match organiser.

No baited hooks may enter the water until the match start “all in” is called and must be removed upon the call of “all-out”.

Any competitor playing a fish when the “all-out” is called, must declare this with the call “fish on”. A time limit of 15 minutes after the “all-out” shall be allowed for such fish to be landed.

Each competitor must only cast or feed within the limits of their own drawn peg, defined as halfway between them and the next peg occupied or not.

Competitors must refrain from rolling fish down their keepnets to weigh in, keepnet bottom rings must be pulled through, (if you don’t know how to do this ask).

Any competitor leaving his peg for whatever reason must withdraw his line from the water. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from the match/series.

Weigh-in will be carried out by persons identified at the draw. Any objections or complaints relating to the match must be raised with the match organiser ASAP before the result is announced. If necessary, the issue will be raised at the next Committee meeting, the complainant may be requested to attend. If the complaint will affect the match result the result will not be announced until a decision has been made and fed back by the match organiser.

In adverse weather the match organiser may implement a walk off; this will be explained prior to the draw Any competitor in breach of the above shall be disqualified from the competition and no weight will be recorded. No plea of ignorance will be accepted for the breach of any club rule
