Night Fishing, Frequently Asked Questions & Rules Explained

I am a club member/annual permit holder, can I night fish?  

Yes – so long as you have also bought an annual night fishing permit (Additional £20 as part of your annual subscription) or purchased an individual night fishing ticket for the night being fished from one of the retail outlets (Cost £9 per ticket)

What notification do I need to give, and who to? -

If you are a full member with annual night fishing permit, a minimum of 12hrs notice prior to fishing is required. If you are accompanying a guest/individual night ticket holder, 24hrs notice prior to fishing is required. Notification can be given by any of the following:- · Haig angling members face book page · E-mail to the club address · Telephone or message directly to the carp co-ordinator, or any of the other senior positions on the committee (Chairman/secretary/treasurer).

What details do I need to provide?

The Day/date of night(s) being fished Name(s) of people fishing, Membership number and/or individual night ticket number.

I am not a full club member – can I night fish?

Yes – but you MUST be accompanied by an existing full club member in holding of an annual night fishing permit. The club member accompanying you will also need to purchase an individual night ticket from one of the ticket outlets on your behalf (Cost £20 per ticket)

How long does a night ticket last?

An individual night ticket lasts 24hrs from 12:00 midday to 12:00 midday the following day. E.g If Friday night is being fished, the ticket is valid from Friday 12:00 midday to Saturday 12:00 midday

Can I night fish on my own?

Yes - If you are an existing full club member with annual night fishing permit.
No – If you are on an individual night ticket.

As an existing full club member in holding of a night fishing permit, can I bring a guest/non-member night fishing with me?

Yes – so long as the above terms and conditions have been met – Those being:- You have purchased an individual night fishing ticket from one of the ticket outlets on their behalf. 24hrs notification has been given with the relevant details provided. Note that you, as the full club member, will be responsible for the actions and behaviour of your guest whilst on the pond.

Can juniors night fish? 

yes -subject to the terms & conditions above. However, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied & supervised by an adult at all times Night fishing.

Additional notes :- 

As with any fishing on our waters, please ensure that actions & behaviour are within keeping of all club rules and noise levels are kept to a reasonable level.

Please ensure upon leaving that all litter, rubbish, redundant fishing tackle (used line, packaging etc.) is collected and taken home for disposal, and that the swim is left in a condition that you would expect to find upon arrival yourself.

Non-conformance with the above requirements or to any of the club rules, will put in jeopardy both the members and non-members permit. Persistent neglect/non-conformance may result in a review of the night fishing rules.
